Trouble mapping a network drive ?

I'm having trouble mapping a network drive to a shared folder on my new Dimension 9100.  I'm wondering if this is occuring because I have a 2 drive RAID 0 array.  I have no problem mapping netowrk drives on my laptop with a single Hard Drive.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance !

Is the resource enabled for "Sharing"?

Then try to PING each node in the network, if PING with no response. You need to check your network and security settings in windows.

Disable below:
  1. Windows (or 3rd party) Firewall
  2. Disable Norton Internet Security

I have Windows Firewall disabled.  I disabled Norton Internet Security only one of the times when I attempted to map the shared folder to a network drive letter.  I'll attempt it again with it disabled.

I'll try to perform the PING you suggested and let you know the results later this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

thanks for your help !

Hi,

Yes, I enabled the folder for sharing prior to attempting to map it to the network drive.

Thanks.
