S2722DZ not able to connect to XPS 8960 with only delivered cable USB-C

It is not possible to connect new S2722DZ with USB-C cable as delivered to also newly delivered XPS 8960 (delivered yesterday). Quick installation guide states, that you should. Tech at Dell answers that XPS8960 is not able to connect with USB-C with S2722DZ. Both Dell and not compatible??? Only 1 cable delivered with monitor which is useless?? I am a decades long buyer / user of Dell equipment and never had any problem. This is annoying and frustrating. Advice seems to be to buy a new HDMI or DP cable. I used my TV's HDMI cable and that works, but that cannot be the solution. When you buy expensive hardware from one supplier you expect that it works as stated. Please advice

It is even more weird. I used a DP cable, lent from a friend,. Monitor works, BUT webcam does not. The screen states, that the webcam needs a USB-C connection to be able to operate. So i need 2 cables (1 HDMI or 1 DP + USB-C = spaghetti), one of which is not provided bij DELL to connect 1 new monitor on 1 new desktop. DELL needs to test this type of configuration because now the customer needs to act as guineapig and testcenter. I have chatted extensively with Dell. They promised to put this issue forward into the organisation (Research centre), but that is it. The procedures they have to follow are not up to this challenge. I feel even more than in my first post, that Dell should feel obliged to compensate customers with this problem with at least sending a DP cable (2.0 / 2,1) free of charge and start looking into this problem, so that only 1 cable is needed to connect the monitor to the desktop
