disabled touchpad (after installing logitech wireless) , even reinstalling windows or downgrading bios did not help
Hi i have an inspiron 8100,
i installed logitech wireless mouse and keyboard . it disabled my touchpad back then. i did not bother, i thought if i uninstall logitech my touchpad would come back. anyways i need to take my laptop with me for a trip, and now i uninstalled logitech to get my touchpad back. well it did not come back. installed new drivers, no luck. i reinstalled winxp , as fresh install, no way. and i even went back to A12 bios from a15, noooo lucccckkk. that is so disturbing. i have no idea about what t do anymore. and i ran dell diagnostics on my system, it does not even show up there!!!so weird. that thing was just working fine until i installed friggin logitech. i even used it with serial mouse. and the point stick does not work too. and no help or support on this issue on either synaptics or logitech website as far as i can tell.
btw in bios, pointing device is in "touch pad -ps/2 mouse " already
any help would be so helpful, since i do not have much time for departure date, and i cannot carry a mouse with me really.
thns

plec,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
If your external mouse requires additional drivers, I would suspect that these drivers are conflicting with those for the touch-pad. You should remove the drivers for both pointing devices and then reinstall those for the pointing device that you wish to use.

I am having the exact same problem. I uninstalled both drivers then installed the alps touch pad driver from the dell site for my labtop, and my glide stick and touch pad both still do not respond at all. I have the pointing device on "touch pad-ps/2 mouse" as well. I have an inspiron 8200. Please some feedback on this would be very appreciated.
