About me

hello, everyone --

i have been reading this dell forum only since dec 2008 but find it very interesting and the people extremely gracious and helpful. i am very grateful to the kind people who have answered my questions in this forum.

i am a 62-year-old woman; i live in tennessee with my dear 12-year-old corgi named DULCE (means "sweet" in spanish, i was taking spanish lessons when i got her). i am now retired but worked for approx 15 years as a law clerk (researching, writing) for a federal judge, first at the trial court level and then at the appeals court level. it was very satisfying work, and i loved it. i am also a musician and a poet. my most favorite places where i have lived are west virginia and arkansas, both very underrated states.

i used to travel a lot, especially to mexico, mainly puerto vallarta (on the pacific coast). my spanish is quite rudimentary, but i can get myself around a city and carry on very simple conversations with people. in mexico, i live completely in the "now," because i know only the present tense! in the last couple of years, though, i have turned into more of a homebody.

i would put myself somewhere between novice and intermediate in terms of computer knowledge. in other words, i can find my way around on the internet, know how to search for help, and generally understand the logical basics of how computers and different kinds of software work. however, i know almost nothing about the physical architecture of computers.

when i first retired (2002), i bought a dell dimension (8200, maybe, i can't remember now) and really loved it. finally, tho, it got so slow and therefore aggravating that i bought my current optiplex 330 a couple of months ago, which has turned me into a speed demon on the keyboard and the screen!

-- susie margaret

dell optiplex 330
windows XP pro, SP 3, 32-bit
IE, v. 7.0.5730.13
internet security 2009, v. 16.2.0.7
add-on pack, v. 3.1.0.8
systemworks basic 2009, v. 12.0.1
