Would it be possible to hook up a second monitor to watch movies while I look on the internet on my first monitor? I figured you could hook up a second one, but I wasn't sure if you could get them to do two different things. Thanks.

If your video card has two input ports, you can connect a second monitor to the open port. Some cards have a VGA and DVI port and others have 2 DVI ports.

Here are some answers to questions I had about the Studio XPS 435T that no one could answer prior to my buying it. Now that I have it, thought I would share - The default 475 W PSU was able to run 3 SATA drives, 1 DVD writer, the i7 920 processor, a BFG OC GTX 275 graphics card (with two 6 pin conn

Check the System Board Components <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> of the Service Manual for the 5 SATA ports on the motherboard.

All,I recently purchased a XPS 435T which had an ATI 5450 1gig card. I bought the system because I knew it could be ordered with the GTX 260, which I already had from a previous system I had. Well, after recieving the XPS, I installed the GTX 260 and am now getting a constant hum in my headset and

Before you installed the GTX 260 card, did you uninstall the ATI drivers and other ATI software?

I have had to mark the 2nd drive NORMAL four times now and have the RAID 1 rebuild (which takes 1-2 hours) since I have had this machine. Dell replaced the second drive for me last week, so now the first drive is a Seagate ST3500418AS and the second drive is a WesternDigital WD5000AAKS-75V0A0. It

Which version of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager are you running? Version 8.9.0.1023 has issues and can cause false errors resulting in having to set a drive back to NORMAL then rebuild the array. Go here to download and install the newest version 9

The subject really says it all. I've had repeated RAID1 failures on my system requiring the replacement of a hard drive about every 3 - 4 weeks or so.  At this point I'm about to become 'best buddies' with the hardware tech who come to replace the drives. I've been doing a little background r

I would suggest uninstalling v8.9 of the Intel Matrix Storage manager and go back to an earlier version. The link you provided discusses non issues with v8.8.0.1009. The new driver you're referring to might be the Intel® Rapid Storage Techn

I am using Piriform "Speccy". A utility that reports on system configuration and performance. It reports that the RAM is " 8.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 664MHz 9-9-9-24" I ordered and paid for 8GB DDR3 SDRAM @1333MHz - 4x2GB. I would love an explanation if someone has any ideas about what is going on.

You are running the RAM you purchased. DDR3 SDRAM PC3-10600 @1333MHz. DDR3 SDRAM is double-data rate three synchronous dyamic random access memory. You can read more about it here. Look under Modules and compare what CPU-Z shows with the table for D

I received my Studio XPS 9000 since several weeks. Most components were equipped with XP drivers and I had to update everything to Win 7 64 bits drivers whenever they became available. I already posted that. I'm using the built in Windows 7 High Definition Audio Device driver (V6.1.7600.16385).

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64bit on my XPS 435T/9000 using the Windows built in driver (High Definition Audio Device) for audio and I am not experiencing any of the sound issues described in this post. Audio sounds just fine and I'm using the

My wifes dimension 9100 has a missing system file, so i got out the disc and went to do a repair. Due to the RAID 0 configuration, the systems reports that it has no hard drives.  Therefore i proceeded to get the RAID drivers to fix the issue.  Placing the driver onto a floppy and press

Try downloading the SATA drivers from Dell's site, here. Extract the files to a floppy and try again. The file you may be missing is TXTSETUP.OEM. Suggestion: At the very minimum, perform regular backups of your data files especially since you're us

Hi Everyone! I have an odd question.  I have a Dell Multimedia Pro USB keyboard (manuf # W875D Dell p/n 330-2486) that does not have all its functions working.  Mainly it is the volume control and multimedia controls.  Everything else works fine.  All of the dedicated keys ab

FYI... my Dell Multimedia KB was the older model. However, I just received the new Dell Multimedia Pro KB like you have and while my XPS 435T/9000 was up and running WIndows 7, I unplugged the older model and plugged in the new KB. I had no issues
