I have this issue with Firefox and N4032 switches. This may shed more light on it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1121391 Also, if Dell is using OpenSSL embedded in the switch OS, this may give them a hint on how to configure it for mod

Just bought a new XPS8300. New motherboard version, (0Y2MRG code) and everything so far seems to work great! Crossing my fingers as this is the first Dell computer I've ever owned. Two questions that I'm hoping someone can answer: 1. What is the maximum amount of memory that can be upgraded

I have had no heating issues that I am aware of. I have not noticed any system stability issues, either.  Performance has always been good.  Once you get above 8 GB, you're not going to notice a huge performance change unless you're doing

Yes. I actually have 2 XPS 8300s and after I put 32 GB in one of them as a proof of concept, I split it into 16 GB per machine.  They came with 8 GB and 6 GB so it actually worked out to be 20 GB per machine.  One is running Win7 Pro so th

The i7 model of the XPS 8300 (I think they only offered the i7-2600, the rest were i5 or i3 variants?), yes, but I can't recall the last time I updated the BIOS. I'd have to check.  This was on two different systems, too.  1 system I put i

I have been searching, and searching for a forum, post, comment... anything that confirms what is the maximum RAM supported in a Dell XPS 8300 and also whether Ivy Bridge CPUs are supported or not. I am yet to find anything conclusive (please share if you have), so, I have done the testing myself a

You already know this answer, but I'm sharing this as another data point and using a different brand for the memory. Dell's maximum supported RAM for this system is 16 GB. However, it works fine with 32 GB of RAM. I used this memory kit in mine: Co

I was able to put in an nvidia GTX460 and a Radeon 6850 (not in the same system) and both worked fine with my XPS 8300. The power supply probably can't handle more than a mid-range kind of card so don't look for a high end one.
