Someone said the computer's hardware was able to run 64 bit but the WinXP Pro software is not. Will WinXP Pro 64 bit work on this model? TIA

restart PC > when you see the dell logo press F2 or just keep pressing F2 until you get into the bios. Save settings? All Dimension 8400 have the 630 or 600 series cpu. Make sure it is turned on. Y

open task manager > processes tab > look for IntelMEM.exe If it is there then you have it and it is turned on. I recommend going to the bios. Restart > f2 > once in the bios look for

I have just bought a Dimension 5000 which has the Philips 8631. Having read the messages here I'm starting to get worried especially as already I can't burn on to CD from my computer using this drive. It also seems very noisy. Could someone alert me to the type of problems that people h
