Hi, my computer will be coming with a 1TB 7200RPM Hard drive. I want to consider getting a Samsung EVO 850 SSD. If I want to install an SSD do I need a 2.5 to 3.5 bracket for installation?
In trying to recover my Windows 7 system due to constant failure of Windows Update, among others, I had the following problem. When recovery reached the stage of Formatting the Hard Disc Drive the following window opened Error Code 0x400110020000100A with only an OK button bottom right corner. Lea
That error means the recovery partition has been corrupted. The only other options is a full re-install using OEM re-installation DVD.
I don't know if I am allowed to attach or insert a pic here this video shows a part of the T5500 and i'd like to know what it is, I circled the thing in red. http colon slash slash i dot imgur dot com slash dlc4Gd7.png I got one second hand off ebay and it is not in my one here are four images
That space is for the optional dual processor riser. You can see detailed pictures of it and some specs in the Dell Precision™ T5500 Service Manual: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/precision-t5500/manuals
Hello There, I am writing this on my 14 year-old computer running XP. I am 68 and decided last year to wipe out some retirement savings and get a top of the line computer that would last me until after I am underground. My Dell XPS 8700 with some Solid State memory died 2 days ago after slig
Have you contacted Dell to see what they would charge to repair it? If you prefer local, check on Ebay. There's a new 8700 motherboard there for $169 plus $25 shipping to Canada.
I've just purchased a new XPS8700. The keyboard and mouse had a lag or, even worse, missed huge tracts of typing. I got so frustrated I threw both keyboard and mouse in the bin and purchased new Logitech devices - and get exactly the same issue. Missing typing, no reaction from mouse movement for se
I had the same problem with my new XPS 8700 and Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo. Checking on the Logitech site I found that this is a common problem with new machines. Apparently the USB 3.0 ports on some computers can emit RF in the 2.
August 3, 2013 I installed Windows 8 Pro on my XPS Studio 8100, when first available. Later, I was told that Dell had not tested W8 on this computer. To add to my misery, something went amiss when I made my back-up of the W7 O/S. I couldn't reinstall W7,
Before you abandon Win 8, Google "Windows 8 Start button" and try out one of the utilities that add the Start button back to the Win 8 desktop. I personally prefer Start8 (www.stardock.com/.../start8) which also allows booting directly to the deskto
I had to install a new hard drive and all my programs. I can't find the programs from the Dell download site for creative sound and to set what the laptop closing lid etc. does. Where will I find these programs. Also I have a ghost backup from about 10 days ago but it would not install correctly at
What model laptop do you have? We can then point you to the right location to download the drivers and software for your hardware. Since it appears you already did a clean install of Windows on the new drive, both Norton Ghost and Acronis True Imag
Hello there, I have an INSPIRON E1505 with Windows XP. The McAfee protection was not working properly, so I contacted customer service. They checked my computer and said that I should contact the computer manufacturer because I have errors on CHKDSK. I've done some research on this web
Try running CHKDSK /R from a command window, then rebooting so CHKDSK has access to all files. Another option is to run CHKDSK in Safe Mode. If neither of the above works, download the utility TESTDISK and try running that. If all that fails, it's
After two years of heavy use, I've pretty much run out of free drive space on my E1505 with its 100GB 7200RPM HDD. Combined with the desire to re-install the Windows Vista 32bit operating system, I decided to replace the hdd with something larger, but of the same speed, etc. After a bit of searchi
I upgraded my E1505's original 80GB 5400 RPM drive with the Fujitsu 320GB (it was on sale at Newegg) with no problems. The BIOS (A17) saw it right away and I restored the Vista image I had made of my previous drive. Vista was working fine and
