XPS L702x USB Boot

Hi, I have an old device "Dell XPS L702x" that I would like to restore to functionality. I have bought a new SSD drive and installed it. I made a bootable USB drive based on Microsoft instructions, but now have trouble getting the PC to boot from it. I put the stick in the USB2.0 slot, it's not detected in USB3.0. It does not load the system, rather "Operation System not found" error is displayed. Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

The BIOS is Phoenix SecureCore Tiano, version A16

I solved this by setting up PXE on my other PC and booting over Network

Are you manually booting (F12 at powerup, and choosing the flash drive from the boot menu)?

I don't think you'll be able to use the USB 3 ports on this system to boot -- only the USB 2.

@ejn63

Hello!

I tried both ways, I set the USB as first in the boot priority, then I will get the error if I dont press anything, as well as if I manually press F12 and choose it

I tried formatting the USB drive to both Fat32 or NTFS.

Might be stupid, but would it be possible to install the system by plugging the SSD to a different machine, then installing the system on it and put it back?

Use the MS Media Creation tool to make the Windows media -- it will handle the formatting.
