XPS 9320 - Camera issue, You provide a workround good, but will there be a patch?

Hello there,

You provided a workaround to fix the camera issues on the XPS 9320, but we would like to know if there will be a permanent fix for this issue? as you can imagine of all Dell xps 9320 owners in the world will need to do it manually?

Hi all! Exciting news, the new driver is now available - Intel 2D Imaging/MCU/Visual Sensing Controller Driver for Camera RESTART REQUIRED!

To optimize compatibility, exclusively download additional drivers from the Dell website.

We invite you to test this new version and share your valuable experience with us.
Thank you for your patience.

Very unhappy about this issue.  Paid $1,600 for a laptop with constant problems.

I have not been able to find even a workaround. Camera has not worked for a week+.

Anyone have the workaround?

Hi Gustavo, good news:

Dell just released this article Webcam Not Detected on the XPS 13 Plus 9320

Cause:
Incorrect Intel UsbBridge generic driver submitted to windows update caused this failure.

Resolution:
Dell plans to release the A03 driver on Dell.com, release date tentatively November 2023.

Dell support can assist you with resolving the camera not being detected, contact Dell support for assistance if you have any questions.

@Sarnat

If you can't wait any longer, I have found a workaround solution (thanks to @fizzy123 for mentioning the tool "Driver Store Explorer") that really works with Windows (10) devices.

Problem: After a Windows driver update (Windows Updates), the internal camera no longer functions. In the Device Manager, "Intel(R) Usb Bridge Device" is not recognized, and only "Intel(R) USB Bridge Firmware Upgrade Device" is displayed.

You might also notice the following in the Device Manager:

  1. Under "System Devices", you might see 4 yellow exclamation marks at "Intel(R) UsbGpio Device", "Intel(R) Usbl2c Device", "Intel(R) Usbl2c Device ", "Intel(R) UsbSpi Device".
  2. An error code such as "0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>" is displayed via the camera app.
  3. Under "USB-Devices", you might only see "Intel(R) Usb Bridge Firmware Upgrade Device".

If this is the exact case, you can follow these steps:

Workaround Solution for Windows 10 devices

  1. Download and install "Driver Store Explorer" from GitHub (an open-source tool) to view all driver packages in the driver store, including .INF files.

  2. Use "Driver Store Explorer" to select all oemXX.inf files related to "Intel(R) USB Bridge Firmware Upgrade Device" and uninstall them using the "Force Delete" option (it is important to select this option!).

  3. Restart your device.

After completing these steps, "Intel(R) Usb Bridge Device" should be displayed in the Device Manager again, and "Intel(R) USB Bridge Firmware Upgrade Device" should no longer be present. Your internal camera should now work properly.

This has helped with my devices. I hope it works for you too! :-)

@Graysen This workaround does not seem to work with Windows 11.
Was able to remove the USB Bridge Firmware Upgrade Device, but the Usb Bridge Device and Visual Sensing Controller Device say grayed out after restart.
But good to know the existence of this tool!

The driver cannot be installed. I downloaded from the web but after installation, nothing happen and the camera is still not working. Then I contacted technical support and they told me that i have to reinstall my window. And my BIOS cannot update to the latest version 2.7. it is horrible.

@DELL-Nat M This didn't work for me. The drivers for the camera show up correctly now, but I still have an issue where the USB Bridge appears to be not working correctly or has the wrong driver. What is the fix for this? I re-installed the chipset drivers but that did not fix it. I've seen something similar that this issue is making the camera not work.
