XPS 17 9720, no microphone found

I have been trying to make the mic working on my XPS 17 9720 with no success. I have enabled it form the BIOS (it was disabled!) however Windows11 still can't find the device despite me forcing an hardware scan; see image here below:

I have fully removed all the audio devices and reinstalled the suggested Realtek driver as per Dell support utility, still nothing of nothing.

What to try next?
