XPS 15 9550 Wi-Fi Upgrade to Intel AX200
Upgrading exisitng DW1830 Wi-Fi card to Intel AX200NGWI Wi-Fi card.
My current Wi-Fi Card is a Broadcom DW1830 3x3 802.11ac 2.4/5GHz + Bluetooth 4.1
My Logitech MX Anywhere 2S keeps dropping out once a day and have read about some BT issues with the DW1830. So I want to replace the DW1830 card with Intel AX200NGW - Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), 2x2, Bluetooth® 5.1, M.2 2230.
I have read that perhaps the AX200NGW is not compatible with 6th Gen Intel CPU. I also note that the DW1830 uses 3 antennas with the AX200 only use 2 antennas. Will the loss of one antenna be a major loss in performance?
Please confirm the compatibility of using AX200NGW card with:
- i7-6700HQ CPU
- Windows 10 64bit environment
- Dell XPS 15 (9550)
Many thanks
Jesston

Hey any luck accomplishing what you asked about @shiraz2many?
I am looking to do the exact same thing with my Dell 9550 laptop.
Thanks in advance for any tips on the procedure. I ordered the intel ax200ngw from Amazon. (see link)

Hi Jesston,
After all my s/w tweaking, I then tried a full format of the hard drive and a clean reload of Windows 10 64 bit, reload of all apps and data, resulting in less Wi-Fi failure but not full success.
I have ordered the Intel AX200 from Amazon, it arrives in 1-2 weeks (I am in Sydney Australia), so we are still waiting to see the result.
Kind Regards
izometric

I just upgraded my Dell XPS 15 (9550) wifi card from DW1830 to AX200NGW.
I plugged the two white and black antena wires, I left the grey just hunging there.
The card works flawlessly. No issues whatsoever. I am browsing the internet for more than 2 hours and listening Spotify with no more interruptions whatsoever.
I recommend this upgrade.
By the way: I ignored the colour labeling on the intel card and I just pluged the antenas in the exact same order as on the old card.
Piece of advice: plug the antenas into the card before you plug the card into the slot. It is much easier to find the miniscule antena plug correct position.

Did your bluetooth work without the grey cable?

I just replaced DW1830 with intel AX210NGW, both WIFI and Bluetooth works perfectly fine. Note: Windows 10 do not have drivers by default so download them before removing old WIFI card. Also left the grey wire just hanging in there, I just covered the tip with sticky note paper to ensure it not doing any short-circuits.

Do you have a link to these drivers? I've just replaced the WiFi chip in my XPS 9550 with the AX210 and none of the drivers I downloaded are finishing. They all error out with "unsupported platform". They are all 32 bit drivers, but I can't find 64 but WiFi drivers anywhere.
