XPS 15 9500 Killer Wi-Fi 6 performance issue

I just unpacked my new XPS 15 9500 laptop and went through the initial Microsoft and Dell setup.

Tested the XPS 15 Killer Wi-Fi 6 using OOKLA Speedtest and compared the results to my Latitude 7490 with an Intel Dual Band Wireless – AC 8265. The results were very disappointing.

XPS 15               Ping = 2 ms        Download = 132.65 Mbps           Upload = 91.59 Mbps

Latitude              Ping = 3 ms        Download = 269.84 Mbps           Upload = 261.97 Mbps

These results were fairly consistent with the Latitude giving double the upload and download speeds. The positions relative to the router were about the same.  The Latitude was purchased over a year ago and the XPS 15 was advertised state-of-the-art with superfast Wi-Fi,  a faster CPU, memory, and SSD.

Are there some XPS 15 adjustments that can be tweaked to improve performance relative to the Latitude?

I experienced exactly the same issues. The XPS9500 Killer WiFi was about 50% slower than my previous laptop with Intel WiFi. I found the Killer Control Center is what slows down the speed and uninstalling it should resolve the issue.

If it doesn't then the best solution would be to completely uninstall all the Killer and use the plain Intel driver instead. Some people on Reddit say they managed to do it. Unfortunately, in my case, auto-update always restores the Killer driver. What I did instead, I stopped and disabled all the Killer Services in the Windows Service Control Manager.
