XPS 15 9500, headphone jack static noise, #3
Headphones just give out harsh static noise (when you try to play any audio), the laptop can be pluged in docking station/unplugged, the issue remains the same.
Speakers are working fine.
The drivers are updated to their latest versions (via Dell SupportAssist, including the BIOS update).
version of Realtek(R) Audio - 10.0.19041.1 (driver date 6.12.2019)
Best,
Miha

Thank you for the help. Dell automatically turned on the Maxxaudio feature for all users who updated their machine to the lastest version. I'm glad this company has some good users that help other customers!

I had the same issue, resolved by disabling Waves Nx.

I can confirm that disabling MaxxAudio enhancements resolves the issue. However, as others have stated, these settings seem to be re-enabled every now and then when Dell delivers a software update.
Today I've updated all pending updates using Dell Command center, and also updated the MaxxAudio Pro software by hand by downloading it from the Dell support page (here), as the update history in Dell Command Center didn't show it. Looks like I'm completely up-to-date now (also, I keep Windows up-to-date at all times). To no avail though, because with NX enabled, I'm still presented with just static when my headset is plugged in.
Dell, please look into this, this is a premier laptop, MaxxAudio presents itself as a premier audio enhancement application, but clearly it isn't working correctly.

Thanks @tmzl, turning off the pro enhancement feature worked for me.
Does the Waves MaxxAudio help in any way? Worth keeping on the system?

Same problem, just started today. It affected bluetooth and headphone jack audio outputs but not USB or speakers. I was able to fix it by disabling the MaxxAudio enhancement as shown above.

Same problem on a brand new Precision 5550 laptop right out of the box. The solution here worked. Thanks!
