Recording from DAB radio using Audacity

Anyone had any success using Audacity to record from DAB Radio and/or Record turntable with USB output?

Is there a specific port to use as the line in?

I’ve been trying unsuccessfully for both radio and turntable.

I’m using an RCA to USB-C cable for the DAB Radio to XPS15 and a USB 2.0 to USB-C cable for the turntable.

I thought this was going to be straightforward but hopefully if I can confirm which XPS15 port(s) I can use, I will be one step further along the road to success.

Thanks in advance

Make sure drivers are updated, USB sound sources should be straight forward for most turntables

Your sound settings may need tweaking too

@HedgeFundManager

Thanks for your comment and advice.

Are you aware if there’s a restriction on which port to use as input on the XPS15?

@HedgeFundManager

hi again.

good news - I have been successful in recording from both turntable and DAB Radio.

I spent a bit more time online looking for advice and found some useful posts about how to set up Audacity with more up to date settings than shown on either Audacity or Audio Technica websites.

For the radio connection I changed to use the Optical line out connected to an SPDIF to USB-C SPDIF Receiver/Converter.

I’m currently recording from the DAB Radio - Audacity appears to be handling the ups and downs of classical music very well.

I’ll save this current recording as a wav file and play it back through my hifi speakers and headphones in case anything needs tweaking.

Thanks again
