New My Dell not installed correctly

I have a XPS 14 944 which was the most expensive computer I have ever had. Ran My Dell this afternoon and loaded Support Assistant and checked for new software. New My Dell found so installed it. Rebooted and ran it, My Dell went straight through to Support Assistant which wasn’t good. But Support Assistant then locked up and got no further than the loading screen.

OK went on line and down loaded the My Dell package and ran that, after a long time it cleaned up what was there and reinstalled the package. This time it worked. So far I have had more problems with this XPS 14 944 than any other computer and I am 80 and been using computers since DOS days. Clearly checking for updates should be safe and if there updates found should be relied to install them.  Clearly this isn’t the case and really just needs to be a indicter that you need to download a update to be run not risk it messing things up.
