Killer Update disables Bluetooth

XPS 17 9700

XPS 17 9700

I would like to help others that will probably have this issue also. I got a Killer Driver Update for my XPS 9700 (it came on August 6, 2024)

Update revision is: 23.60.0.1 (Dated July 2024)

After Update my Bluetooth is gone, additionally the device manager shows a USB port with a driver issue.

Solution: The update turns off the Bluetooth services.

* Start the Services Explorer (type: services.msc in the search window)

* Look for the Bluetooth Services (I have three of them).

* Make sure that they are all running and set to Automatic as the startup type (the update turned them all off and they were all set to Manual).

(after this and a reboot all will be fine and the device manager will no longer show any errors).

I hope this solves your issue also.  :-)

That suggests some corruption in Windows settings, I have found a boatload of problems. I use Lenovo and Dell so I have seen it all at one time or another.
