External monitor intermittently not recognized - DP to WD19TB to USBc to XPS 15 7590 (intel UHD 630 GPU)

System: XPS 15 7590, Docking station WD19TB, GPU Intel UHD-630 assigned to both monitors (second GPU NVidia GTX 1650 - only assigned to apps), Running Windows 11 version 22H2 for x64 bit systems. BIOS, GPU drivers all updated and current. I also turned off PCI Express Link State Management.

Second Monitor:  Acer XV275K P3 (4K UHD, AMD, 160 Hz) connected to dock with DP-DP cable. Dock is connected to laptop with USBc.

Issue: Whenever I disconnect the USBc and then reconnect, the external monitor is no longer recognized even after restarting laptop. In Display Properties, I see that it repeatedly detects the second screen for about 2 seconds and then drops it, while the laptop screen zooms out and back in.

Current workaround fix (after unplugging USBc): Time-consuming process of turning off and on monitor, unplugging and replugging USBc, restarting GPU (Shift-Cntrl-Win-B), unplugging and restarting Docking station, and restarting laptop several times until the connection takes.

Current workaround fix (after laptop automatically sleeps): Turn off and on monitor, press Shift-Cntl-Win-B, repeat step 1, repeat step 2 (monitor connects but resolution is incorrect), repeat step 1 & 2 again (resolution is fixed).

Solution found (Turn off "Auto Source" on the external monitor's on-screen menu)

This appears to be a hardware issue. The Acer monitor's on-screen menu had source correctly set to "DP" but it also had "Auto Source" set to "Automatic".  The monitor wasn't detecting the signal in time and was cycling through the other sources (HDMI, VGA, etc).  What was strange was that the Dell laptop was seeing the monitor for a second and then the monitor was disappearing. Perhaps there is a small lag and/or the monitor was too quickly determining there was no signal on DP.  In any case, turning off the AutoSource seems to have fixed the issue.
