Do I really need to replace the whole screen? It costs half the price of laptop!?

Based on this picture, what specific part needs replacement please? Would like to order online and get a local technician to do it. I live in a remote location outside of USA. This is XPS13 9350 Touch screen. Thank you for your help.

It would help to know what system model you have, but it appears the system has a touch or glass-covered screen.  On these, you do need to replace the entire upper assembly.

It's XPS13 9350 touch screen as mentioned. Or do you need more info? I am in Indonesia and they quoted me $650 to replace the screen!?? That's crazy....

You may want to try another shop.  In the US, even the very high resolution  screen assembly runs about $225-250.  And even if some other parts are needed such as the palmrest assembly, with labor the cost should still come in below $400 with labor included.

Welcome to the Dell Community @kittykt

Is the screen damaged???

Is the hinge loose at the base below the keyboard???

Or is the hinge loose behind the LCD screen???

Can you post a picture like the first one but from the side???

Best regards,

U2

Thanks @U2CAMEB4ME . I opened it up and found that the hinge is broken. Can I not just glue the two pieces together with metal glue, if the spare part is not available? Any idea?

If you need a temporary repair, JB Weld or similar may work for a short time.  It won't hold long term, though.  The adhesive will fail.

Unfortunately, the hinges are part of a fused together assembly.  It would need to be disassembled and the broken parts replaced.  Doing that without destroying the outer glass, the inner LCD or both is something not even a professional repair shop would undertake.

The only permanent solution is a replacement display assembly.
