Dell XPS 15 9750 won’t login

Question

My Dell XPS 9750 (~10 months old) will not login. The fingerprint scanner does not register and I cannot get the login screen to display the manual keyboard password entry box. I have tried holding down the power button for 30-40 seconds... to no avail... issue persists. Also, cannot get BIOS to display using F12. Any help on the matter or input from others who have experienced similar issues is much appreciated.
