Dell XPS 13 not turning on

Hi,

My Dell XPS 13 is not turning on at all. I used it 2 days ago with no issue. It was turned off and unplugged. Today when I went to turn it on I had no response. I have tried holding the on button down for up to 30 seconds with both the charger plugged in and unplugged. The charger light is still on so I presume the charger is working.

How do I resolve this?

Remove the base cover.  Unplug the battery and AC adapter -- hold the power button for 30 sec.

Leave the battery disconnected - will the system power up on AC only?  If it will, then reconnect the battery.  If that causes problems, the battery is bad.

If the system still won't start up after the reset -- the mainboard is bad.

If you need a part reference, you'll need to supply the system model (XPS 9343, etc.) and indicate the CPU you have.

I have the same problem (xps 9550), when i do as you say it works but it's so annoying to boot a laptop like that !
