Dell XPS 13 - Does not work when connected to the normal charging cable or using only battery

The laptop XPS 13 is not starting up when connected to the normal charging cable or using only battery.

- Keyboard gets illuminated.

- No Dell startup screen.

- Orange and white blinking starts.

When the laptop is connected to a Dell monitor via USB C cable, it works completely normally.

I already tried a different charging cable - no positive effect.

Can you please help me to identify the source of problem (e.g. battery)?

Thanks for your help.

Test with a Dell USB-C charger.

Thanks for you answer.

Unfortunately I was not accurate enough. With „normal charger“ I meant a Dell USB-C-charger what does not work.

Dell USB-C charger does not offer swappable charging cable.  That information is still unclear.  If the laptop is working when connecting through USB-C port with a monitor, it should be working when connecting the same USB-C port to a known working Dell charger.

Note that you still neglected to disclose the laptop model, no one knows the power specifications and can't suggest a compatible charger.

The laptop model: XPS 13 9310 (sorry for not indicating).

I tried with the USB-C charger that was provided with the laptop and a USB-C charger from a HP laptop - both do not work (the Dell one previously did).

Your system needs a 45w USB-C power adapter with 20 VDC output voltage.  Only Dell power adapter can be fully recognized and provides charging to battery.

Verify your charger in BIOS to see if it is recognized.  The battery health and charging status are disclosed in BIOS as well.
