XPS 8950, front universal audio jack
Is the front universal audio jack hardwired onto the motherboard so that a PCIe soundcard can not use this jack using header cable, etc?

In the old-old days (like 15-20 years ago when Sound-Blaster were popular) Dell did some cool stuff like that.
But no. Now-days you can install a PCIe Sound-Card, but you must always use the audio ports on the back of the card.
Some musicians use external sound-cards now-days (USB and other interfaces). Obviously, everything sound-related then plugs into that box.
