XPS 8930, splitter, microphone issue

My desktop is an XPS 8930 and I recently bought a splitter so I can use my apple headphones with earbuds. However, the microphone does not work for some reason. My microphone is being detected as shown below. However, when I go into voice recorder and try to do a voice test, all there is is a weird zzzzzzz static sound. I have looked everywhere for a solution, but nothing is working. (My headphones are working, just not the microphone part)

However I have heard that some newer generations of apple headphones doesn't work with splitters.

Hi,

Do you have any other headphone available that you may check with?

I have just tried with the Soho Wireless headphones that I plugged in, but the microphone still doesn't work. When I go into the voice recorder, there is no static sound with the Soho, but there is no sound. It could be that Soho wireless just doesn't work with the splitter as well as the apple headphones, I'm not sure.

Did you look on the Win 10 Microphone screen to make sure microphone access is turned on? microphone.jpg

@xpcutebear Does your XPS 8930 have the MaxxAudio app? If so, check the settings in the MaxxAudio app.
