XPS 8930 SE motherboard in Studio XPS 435T/9000 case?
I am looking for better air cooling. I have an old Studio XPS 435T/9000 case case. Looking to switch out cases. Would it be swappable?

Re: I have an old XPS 435t /9000 case Actually the 9000 case is only larger than 8930 but historically reported by users to have suboptimal air flow as well. It has a small side vent designed for vertical air duct of 9000 heatsink fan. 8930 cooler doesn’t have vertical air duct unless custom made. It has only one front bottom intake fan for gpu. It is esthetically a more attractive case of the old Dell XPS compared to the more modern minimalistic 8930 case to some people, depending on your view. In terms of cooling, old Dell XPS 630i with two 120 mm front fans and optional rear 92 mm fan are better than 9000. But if you don’t have such an old case, no need to buy one as there are many aftermarket ones significantly better.

I was hoping it might be a straight shot. Didn't want to mess around too much with modding. If that's the case I might as well buy and aftermarket. I gutted out all the extra hard drive brackets, installed 2 front fans. But with the way the PSU was designed in that case, air doesn't exit very well. It did manage to lower the GPU, m2 and ssd temps dramatically! But the processor is still running in the high 90s. Before I upgrade case, I'm thinking of putting the PSU on the outside of case and taking the mounting bracket out entirely.

For new case you need 8930 front panel power switch pinout, which is mapped. On the XPS 8930 motherboard FP header (x is blank), pin 6 is pwr button, pin 5 and 8 are ground. 2 4 6 8 x 1 3 5 7 9 https://www.dell.com/community/XPS-Desktops/XPS-8930-power-switch-wiring/td-p/7539870

@Dell630i Ah thanks for the links! From the pics above, I didn't notice that all the metal was all still there in the back of case. Thanks again for the help!
