XPS 8930, PSU upgrade, Corsair HX 850i
I just got a 8930 with the standard 460w PSU. I have a fairly new Corsair HX 850i that was (delicately) installed on my prior 8500. While I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mantra, I probably won't sell my used PSU and will most likely want to put it into the 8930. The Corsair is much longer than the original PSU but appears to have enough room.
I looked through threads to see if there were any other similar posts, saw nothing helpful. Before I think about removing the stock PSU, can anyone confirm that this specific PSU (HX 850i) will properly fit in the swing out PSU holder?

Here's the photo. The HX850i should reach where the top PSU (Delta) reaches. Any longer and you cannot sit the PSU in the swing arm. Also, the Seasonic is 140mm which I have heard on XPS board that is the same length as the 460W PSU.

Hope this helps.

I'm an Aurora R8 owner that moved from Dell's 850W PSU to a Seasonic PSU. I believe the 8930 swing arm should be the same as the R8. The Delta (Dell) PSU is 180mm long and so is the HX850i. As a sanity check, use a ruler and you should see the HX850i length should reach a notch on the swing arm.

Just to confirm that I understand your answer, the HX 850i is the same size/length (180mm) as the Delta PSU that you replaced in your system which you believe is the same PSU swing out as on the 8930. The 850i is definitely longer than the current PSU in my 8930. However, it appears that it will still fit in the arm with a little room to spare. I was looking for someone that may have completed the same PSU upgrade, but totally appreciate the input. I'm assuming that any ATX design will fit, as long as the length fits and leaves room for the connectors?

Yes, generally ATX PSU have same width and height but I can double check later today against the dimensions of my Delta PSU. I think I may have noticed a mm or 2 of difference between my Seasonic and Delta yesterday when measuring for a PSU shroud mod. Will also post some photos of that "line/ notch" in the swing arm that denotes the upper limit of the PSU length.
Another consideration is your HX850i cables. Swapping my PSU gained me 40mm of space in that swing arm but then it all got taken up by the thick long cables from Seasonic. So if you have long cables for HX850i, especially for the 24-pin ATX to the motherboard, it's gonna be tough because your PSU distance to the motherboard header has decreased significantly and you have to find a good way to route the cable sans crimping it when closing the swing arm.
