XPS 8910, graphics card power issue

Hi everyone, hopefully someone can help. I have a stock standard factory Dell XPS Desktop (unsure of exact model but is approx. 5 years old) and have a 'Please power down and connect the PCIe Power Cable(s) for all graphics cards' error come up after a week of not using the computer. It has not been messed with before except maybe for cleaning.
I opened up the computer and ensured the graphics card was connected and attached/re-attached each of the 6-pin power supplies to the graphics card (P7 and P8) but keep getting the same message. There was also a plastic bracket that I can't figure out how to re-attach and a loose small blue plastic part sitting in the box. How do I go about fixing this error? Is there an issue with the power supply?

Thanks

@mrnameless

You have not plugged in the SIX PIN video Power cable for the Video Card.

The support bracket may not go back in with a card that long.

motherboard model is IPSKL VM.  PC is XPS 8910.

here is xps 8910 service manual page explaining how to service full length graphics card you have there.  it includes picture for black gpu bracket and blue securing tab that may have broken loose using incorrect technique when removing card.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately when I tried to connect the 6 pin cable (both P7 and P8) I get the same error.

Your pic of gpu shows only one 6 pin connector.  What is model number of the gpu?  Is there a Dell p/N on it?  If it has only one 6 pin, how did you plug both P7/8 connector from psu into the card?  Another way that user test gpu is to test it in another desktop that has 6 pin connector in psu, if that is available.

Is that the OEM gpu?  The bracket just clicks back in the center between the two HDD caddies.

The blue plastic piece looks like it is the part of the motherboard x16 slot that locks the GPU in place.  Did you pull out the GPU wuthout unlocking it from the motherboard?

Also, are you sure you plugged the 6 pin pcie power cable into the GPU in the correct direction so the circle and squares libe up, and all the way in until it clicks into place?

UPDATE

Took the computer to a local shop to get looked at. The graphics card had failed and had to be replaced. Replaced the unit and it's good as new now.
