moving long distance with XPS 730
specifically flying with XPS 730(X), this thing is definitely heavy than standard airline checked in luggage limit.
"The box can weigh up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms). The total length + width + height of the box must be less than 62 inches (158 cm)."
to do it, one need to remove the motherboard, cooler, including gpu.
one also needs to uninstall the Dell 1000w psu.
the rest can stay.
the resulting empty case in a sturdy cardboard box actually weighs just a bit below 50 lb (with a X clear view side panel). I have done this so I can say it.
and a box can be found to be exactly at borderline limit of airline policy.
I have not moved the psu in a carry on luggage through security check. I am not sure whether PSA can pass it. I just do not want to risk it being confiscated. If any one has moved a Dell psu through PSA pls share your experience.
Dell motherboard, cooler, gpu? I am not sure either.
