Kiosk mode on Z90D7
Kiosk mode on Z90D7
Good day. We've recently purchased a number of Z90D7 units. Quite pleased with them overall, but I'm having a bit of trouble with one annoying behavior. I'm wanting to use them in a kiosk-type application, a web-based one utilizing a bar code scanner. When I log into the unit I'm testing, I want it to default to the particular web page.
I've set the IE properties to the desired web page with the "-k" option, which works fine. I've set a shortcut in the Startup directory, and this also works; it launches IE and goes to the identified web page when it starts up. However, for some reason, it leaves the focus on the desktop. I have to click (or use Alt-Tab) to get the focus into IE. This would be a minor annoyance, except the folks in the field aren't necessarily the most computer-savvy. I'll get 3 AM phone calls that the "system is down" if they have to take that extra step.
The same setup works fine on a desktop PC; it's just on the thin client that it leaves the focus on the desktop. Is there a way to force the focus to IE? What am I missing?
