ThinOS - Intermittent Login Issues VMware + SAML auth via Azure AD

Hello,

I am facing a very interesting issue & I am curious if anyone else has experienced this same behavior. I am currently running about ~200 ThinOS devices in Production. A good mix of Wyse 5070s & Optiplex 3000s.

VMware v2309 with SAML based auth through Azure AD.

Users are able to successfully complete the 2FA prompt via Azure AD. At this point they are prompted for their password once more to authenticate with VMware. The user will successfully enter their password, the device states "Starting broker sign on...." then simply hangs for ~2-3 minutes. Eventually, the login times out & states an error "Error: Horizon: check tunnel error" or "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'user-message')"

At this point the user could be stuck in this login loop 10+ times until eventually they are allowed in. This issue seems specific to ThinOS as I've not been able to reproduce it from a Windows based machine. My workaround for this issue is typically provide the user with a new device & hope they don't experience it again or ask that they connect from a Windows based machine, if one is available. Connecting in from a Windows based machine will never experience this issue.

Anyone else seeing similar intermittent behavior with ThinOS & VMware?
