ThinOS 9.x and Citrix Host to Client browser redirection issue

We have our ThinOS devices setup in a kiosk mode where they boot up, auto logon and launch a specific application running from out Citrix XenApp farm.  From within that app there are hyperlinks which should launch a web browser.  We have host to client browser redirection enabled on these XenApp servers so once these links are clicked, Workspace should do a check for an available browser on the client and if one isn't found, the browser window should redirect back and open from the XenApp server.  This isn't working with the ThinOS 9.x devices.  Nothing happens.  No browser window opens.  This functionality has worked for years on our ThinOS 8.x devices.  Anyone else experience this or have a workaround outside of disabling host to client browser redirection on the XenApp servers?
