Florian S:

I'm not sure I understand the question, so I'll try to answer it based on what I understand. The 5040 is known as an All-In-One, or AIO for short. This thin client is based on our proprietary Wyse ThinOS, which does not include a browser. You can connect to a remote computers/servers using RDP or ICA  or VDI brokers, and from that remote connection you can launch a web browser.

Hope this helps.

Go to Configuration and under System Preferences, select the Time/Date tab and you can change the Time and Date from there.

But my question is just how to do it remotely, because the thin client is not my work but elsewhere ....

I have 2 identical HP Proliant servers.   Both have the same version of Server 2008 r2. One is running Remote Desktop Services (terminal server) and the Other is not.

The one with Remote desktop services will not connect to certain thin clients.   The other appears more promiscuous and will handshake and connect with any of them.

I have done the License Server trick with the install by Web, and remove and reinstall and that got SOME of the thin clients to work, but there are 5 others that are remaining stubborn.

If the Firmware on the Thin Client was out of date, it would not be connecting with ANY Server 2008 r2, but it is.   ?!?

At a total loss for ideas on this one...

Thanks

Florian,

The AIO thin client does not have remote capabilities, except for using VNC. You may want to ask your system administrator about remote access since it would require that they provide you the necessary access.

Maria,

This all depends on how the SERVER is configured for RDP. Older versions of RDP do not support NLA, so if you have NLA enabled on the server, you may need to turn it off. Please include thin client model and firmware version if you need further assistance.

Hello,

I am the system administrator (but i'm new in society). I do not use VNC. Actually, I do not wish to access the current session on the thin client or VM that is currently on. I really wish access the configuration, we will say, HARDWARE remote Thin client. One that allows setting the time, some settings, etc.

This is possible or not?

Florian,

Since this thread is about ThinOS thin clients, I will assume that your thin client is ThinOS-based. Remote configuration of these clients can be accomplished by using an FTP/HTTP/ or HTTPS server and an INI file residing on that server. Details on what this file is can be found at wwww.wyse.com/manuals and go to 01 - Documentation > 02 - Reference Guides > 01 - Hardware Products > 01 - Wyse ThinOS

or you can review the attached document.[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/4949/SEN_2D00_WTOS-_2D00_-WNOS.INI-Beginner_2700_s-Guide-_2D00_-V2.pdf:550:0]
