Unable to upgrade WMS to 4.2.0.521

We're unable to upgrade WMS 4.1.1.111 to 4.2.0.521 as it says the service account password can't be validated.

It's 100% the correct password as I can login with it.

The .txt says this:

Any ideas at all?

Funnily enough - they've just released 4.2.1.8 today, and this is their fix:

The fix being just bypass the validation cause they don't know how to fix it lmao

We discovery the password, it's from a user local!
Check if the password is correctly!

@Arthur Alvares Tried the local user password, doesn't work. Even tried changing the service account to a domain joined account and it still won't accept the password. Bit baffled with this one.

Hi,

I have the same issue, there is a "bug" with the utilisation of powershell script AppData\Local\Temp\Test-LocalCredential.ps1

Error repported in AppData\Local\Temp\CredentialCheck.txt :

Missing an argument for parameter 'Domain'.

When the user set to launch Tomcat service is a local acount like me as : ".\WMSUser"; the installer read "\WMSUser" and fail after to valid credidential.

I have try to set %COMPUTERNAME%\WMSUser to the service, but it come back automaticly on ".\WMSUser".

So i bypass the setup by using temporaly a domain account for the service : "Dell WMS: Tomcat Service" and the setup continue ...

You can trick setup with this regedit value : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tomcat9\ObjectName

@DellTeam : there is a wait to informe product team ?

@xiDannYo We get the same error. But the checkbox doesn't totally fix it and it just generates a second error. wmsuser DOES have the "logon as a service" and "Access this computer from the network" rights in the local policy.  Frustrating

Photo upload not working: Error is: User WMSUser is not part of 'Logon as a service'. Please add user account to 'Logon as a service' Local policy.

@Arthur Alvares

Do you know how to get current password or reset? Just reset password of local user and then update services using local user?
