Remote Devices Check Not Checking In

Remote Devices Check Not Checking In

Hello

We recently installed WDM 5.0. We are unable to find devices that are located over the wan. The devices over the WAN do however show in device manager when manually configured with server ip address using 80, and 443 ports. We can not manage the device even though it is showing green. Also the ones that have checked in locally are also not manageable. For instance when try to do a remote session with either a local device or a remote device I receive the following error "No connection could be made because target machine actively refused it", obviously there is a communication problem. When I run the dns_dhcp_lookup utility neither method works. Any help would be much appreciated as documentation on the web is not very good. I think I am missing something that is not in the amdin guide as far as configuration.

I can ping between the server and the clients both by ip and dns name of server and wdmserver hostname.
Nslookup is working
Disabled firewall on both server and thin client

One issue I have noticed is when I run the dns_dhcp_lookup utility neither method works.

Had the same issue after updating to WDM 4.9.1. Seems the HAGENT needs to be at a correct version before they are manageable from within the new WDM server version.
I resolved did by placing the correct HAGENT version in the addon directory on the FTP server and rebooting the clients.

Hope this points you to the right direction.

mrcoldfire: how do you locate the correct version of the HAGENT and where does it need to be placed on the FTP server (assuming default install paths in C:\Inetpub\ftproot)? Same issue being encountered here with not being able to Remote Shadow devices in WDM 5.0.

Thanks.
