Windows wont start txtsetup.sif missing or corrupt
hello this is my first time posting I also get a blue screen error that has a stop code of 0x0000006B then once I try to reinstall windows XP from cd it says the txtsetup.sif is missing or corrupt, I have a lot of info on here and it has been maybe two days I have been searching the internet for information...I can't reinstall because that file is missing so whats next and what could the problem be?
It all started maybe 2 days ago, I put this cdrw photo cd in my drive and it locks up, so I remove it and everything was fine for maybe an hr...then windows shut down and I recieved the blue screen that says
process1_initialization_failed
stop code 0x0000006B (0xc000007A, 0X000000008, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)
So I tried numerous times to start it normally, in safe mode, last working config....and it kept bringing me back to the blue screen...I tried to use my reinstall cd that I got with the dimension 2400, and I boot it from IDE drive...after it checks hardware for configuration it says that the INF file TXTSETUP.SIF is corrupt or missing windows cant install..press any key to exit
WHAT SHOULD I DO I AM SO STUCK...I have no floppy drive because my system didnt come with one...we typically use it for schoolwork and I need whats on there!!
Please help and thanks in advance

I have been having the same problem when windows tries to copy files from the cd.except it does not stop with txtsetup but includes alot of other files that seem to be missing or corrupt.
I was talking with dell tech support and they are as dump founded as I am. I tried everything so far except a new dell power supply and processor. I have replaced the CDROM drive, cables, HDD,and as a last resort dell tech support thought well maybe its the motherboard so I replaced it for dimmension 2400, and even tried a new out of the package windowsXP Home Edition.
GUESS WHAT? no such luck
I still get the same errors that a certian file is missing or corrupt(It is not always the same file it is usaully a different file everytime I try to re-install windows.
But when I take that OS to another system it works fine.
So far my clients PC is useless except as a dorr stop.

The memory that I used is DIMM, 256MB, 400MHz, Non-ECC, 8K, 184pin. I added the new memory first and the OS loaded up nicely but still had errors during SP2 installation it would not allow it, I would get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH saying system halted blah, blah, blah, you know the rest to prevent damage to the system.
So I then replaced the Processor with a new P4 2.53GHz, 1.525V max 533MHz, 512KB L2-Cache PGA-478 Pkg. GUESS WHAT!
It works great not a single error. SP2 loaded and all windows updates.
Replace your processor.
Cheers,
Brian.
