When the error message comes up, click more information;
or in WMP help, index, error information, viewing, gives instructions on where else to look (click on the link Windows Media Error center help: that opens a new help file listing all the error codes).
C00D119 does not appear, there should be another digit or letter at the end. (e.g. C00D1197). if not check all the various error codes that start with C00D119 that relate to WMP cannot play the file.
C00D1199: Cannot play the file Windows Media Player cannot play the file. You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:
The file type is not supported by the Player. For a list of file types (formats) that are supported by Windows Media Player, see Supported file types. The file type is supported by the Player, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the Player. The file type is supported, but you are trying to play it in a way that is not supported by the Player. For example, you might have tried to drag a DVD file with a .vob extension from a DVD to the Windows Media Player icon. Or you might have tried to open a .vob file by clicking Open on the File menu. You are trying to play one part of a multipart file. Use a newsreader or other program to combine the files, and then try again. Error ID = 0xC00D1199, Condition ID = 0x00000000
Ah, I and others had some problem with mp3. Try tools, options, rip music, select mp3 in the format box, set the slider to 192 kbps. That worked for me whereas other slider positions didn't.
Nope duzznt play - its odd - it plays on an MP3 programme called Wavepad, Winamp but not on WMP. I send it to my other comp which still has WMP 9 so I guess the problem is with all WMP's.
yeh tried that. When i tried playing it in windows media player 9 it said that the extension did not match the file format. I dont get this message in WMP9 though. It could just be the MP3 file I guess but this never happened with WMP9.

Click "Select All" then OK? (In Windows media player)
Or at least make sure mp3 is checked.
