Windows 7 Upgrade Problems
I enter my information and it says I am eligible. I click continue. Then the box doesn't go away and it doesn't load. I can't click anything except continue. I click continue. The screen says "An error has occured". I called tech support. I called Dell and they said that is a typical problem and that they can't fix it. This happened many times. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?
I waited one week. On google chrome I get to the "enter your language and 64 or 32 bit" section. On IE I can't even get to that screen. I tried turning off popups. For Google Chrome after I enter the information the screen goes blank. For IE it says "an error occured". I called Dell and they said that is a typical problem and that they can't fix it.
I have a Dell Inspiron 546s purchased September 26th. I would REALLY like to have Windows 7 as soon as possible. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Jesse - I've sent the information you require. I have also sent you the mail transcripts with Dell support

Well anyone else who has an issue better hope that Jesse is listening - cause he just sorted me out and in 5 minutes I have managed to register, order and pay for my upgrade.
Thank You Jesse - you are a credit to your company.

Agreed; without Jesse I would not have just seen that my Windows 7 upgrade has shipped.
But the question does still hang out there like a bad stink: what the heck is wrong with the upgrade program? And why, why on earth, would Dell not fix it?
