RegOwner Instaling Microsoft Programs not being picked up

Question

I just bought a new PC from dell with OEM install and have set the regowner
to my name under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/WinLogon
however whenever I install a new program it does not pick up the
inforamtion. Anyone have any ideas???

If you posted the registry location properly, you changed it in the wrong place. The registered owner and organization information is located at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion. You can also change it with the little script here.

Sorry I typed in the Winlogon in errror.  I already have regowner set and it still doesnt make a difference
