Outlook Express Error Messages
I am having problems with Outlook. When I sign on to my computer, it states I have 2 unread messages in my Outlook. However, when I get on to Outlook, I have no messages at all in my inbox. I use another source for email.
Also, when I sign on to Outlook, an error message appears that states:
The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'IMAP', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
I would like to rectify this error message and the error that is causing my computer to state I have 2 unread messages. thanks!

To remove the unread mail prompt use the little script here. If your antivirus program is set to block scripts you will have to give permission for this one to run.
For the OE error open OE and go to Tools|Accounts. Click to select your account then click "Properties." On the Servers tab of the dialog that opens make sure that the POP3 and SMTP server settings are in accordance with what you were told by your ISP. The error message you are receiving indicates that they are not correct.
