No Advanced Settings tab in Windows 7 Device Manager IDE ATA/ATAPI controller properties
Wanted to make sure my secondary IDE controller was running in DMA mode. Started Device Manager and expanded IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and can see no channels.
Right clicked for properties but no Advanced Settings tab is available.
I know some people say programs like Intel Application Accelerator can disable the Advanced Settings tab but I can't seem to find it installed on my system. I'm running Windows 7 Basic 64bit on an Inspiron 1545.
Any ideas on how I might be able to enable this option?
Thanks in advance!
Russell

I suspect it's a BIOS setting Russell, 'coz I only have those same tabs as well (Windows 7 HP 64bit)?

Thanks man,
Went poking around in the bios but have yet to find any setting that would give me the option. Will investigate further.

Update
Actually discovered I did have a version of Intel Application Accelerator installed after all, apparently its now called Intel Matrix Storage Manager. Uninstalled it and all the channels and advanced settings tab appear now. :emotion-1:

Hi guys. I'm having the same issue. I don't see any Intel programs installed in the add/remove program option though. How did you locate and remove the program? I think not having DMA enabled is preventing Pro Tools from functioning properly.

In Windows 7 Basic I looked in Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features and saw the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. I googled it and found out it was actually the new name for Intel Application Accelerator on this site.

I uninstalled it from there. I suppose there could be another program which also hides advanced settings in device manager, the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and Intel Application Accelerator were the only ones I know about. You could probably try googling some of the programs in your programs and features list to find out what they do or if others have issues with them.
