This was posted on another site. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I am still frustrated and having the same problem. I welcome any advise for this.

I hope this easy fix will work for your photo headache.

here goes:
Try this

Start by closing all browser sessions.
Go to your Control Panel-> Internet Options.
On the General Tab, under the Temporary Internet Files, find the Settings button, click that.
Find the View Objects button, click that.
This should open your C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files folder. Find the MSN Photo Upload Tool.
Delete it. Trying to delete this while a browser is in operation can garble the registry settings and other factors.
Close that folder.

You will need to reinstall the MSN Photo Upload Tool when it requests it

I also found these numbers....(from a 2000 cached forum) but they might still work. I'm going to call in the AM.

MSN:
Customer Support: 1-800-386-5550
Technical Support: 1-877-635-7019

Both are toll free in the US.

k, well I go to the album I created, click edit, click add photos and a window pops up saying "Install the MSN Photo Upload Control" with a button underneath saying "Install Now" if I click the button nothing happens. Also up top a bar will have appeared saying "To help protect your security,Internet Explorer stopped this site from installing an ActiveX control on your computer. Click here for options."

Well if I click there the only option is to click "Install ActiveX Control" I click this, It seems to load, then I get an "Internet Explorer - Security Warning" and down at the bottom of the warning it says "This file was blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher" the only option from there is to click OK and then I can't download pictures

please help me if you can!!!!

I still haven't solved this!!!! I even did a complete reinstallation of my windowsxp....and nothing changed! I emailed the tech support at MSN and never got a reply!

I called MSN and tried to go through a back door of those with paid support....they listened to the problem, but had NO IDEA how to solve this????

As for you (ellybelly)....just do as I do..... when you want to attach photos....under the attach prompt...click attach files (not attach photo) and then click browse....and find any photo you wish.

Of course, the download is soooo much better, as it resizes/compresses your photos to a standard more reasonable size so you won't have to. I originally had it....and loved it.....now....I am missing it greatly!

In my opinion.....I believe that it no longer exists...it was probably replaced my MSN's newer (for fee) hotmail upgrade. So, if you had it and never lost it.....your golden.....but, if you lost it like me.....or if you never had it.....then it is no longer available.

Please Help !

I'm in the same boat.   I had a dell, and the upload tool worked just fine.   Would let me save and attach other photos from other picture files.

Just recently built a new system, and now...can't get it to work at all.

Here are the steps, and results....

I click on attachment, add photo.   It opens the window asking if I wish to install the photo upload tool.   I click yes.   I get the "internet explorer has blocked this window"  and click on yes, install anyways.   (its the active x they say I need).   I then get a "page cannot be refreshed without resending the information" and I click retry, and that seems to work.   Following that, the window asking would I like to download and install the upload tool opens, I click yes, and again the "page cannot be refreshesed...." so I click retry, and it takes me instantly to my pictures folder, where I can attach a photo or two from the SAME folder, but does not give me the option to save and add another picture from a diferent folder.  I never see the window open showing the download and installation process.

When I go to the internet options in control panel, and look at installed objects, it says the photo tool is installed, yet obviously, it isn't working correctly.

Hotmail tech support did get back to me when I sent a problem email, but the instructions they sent me did not solve the problem.   They then asked if I could try and download and install from another computer....how many do they think I have?

Anyway, If anyone has seen a similar issue, and figured out a solution, I would be grateful for any help.   Hotmail tech is of no use now (if they cant figure it out, I figure I'm out of luck).   I miss being able to send several small pics without having to send multiple emails...:(

I have the latest version of IE, everything I can update through microsoft and windows is current.   All other active x files I "need" to install work just fine....this is just one of those annoying "this should work, why isn't it" problems one comes across.

Sorry if this is way long...just wanted to be as clear and specific regarding what I'm doing, and encountering with this issue....:smileywink:
