Getting Dell Dimension 5150 to upgrade to Windows 10: "there are no supported networking devices"
Hi everyone
I've run the Get Windows 10 applet and get the message: "There are no supported networking devices".
I'm running the router directly from the ethernet port, so it looks as if the Dell 5150 driver for this isn't Windows 10 compatible, which is disappointing.
Does anyone have a solution to this, or will I just have to buy another cheap network card?
Thanks in advance,
J McVirgo.

Everything works fine with Windows 10. Don't be fooled.
Buy a $10 usb wifi adapter that has Ralink or Realtek chipset.

Dell Compatible Part#'s are: RD203 0RD203 HJ054 0HJ054 WG261 0WG261 J8885 0J8885 KF623 0KF623.
Make sure you have updated to bios A07 first.
HJ054 will work without issue.
Others will press F1 to continue every time with pentium D.
Once you have A07 Bios you can upgrade to Pentium D 915 to 945.
The 945 is max. Also make sure you upgrade to 4 gigs of ram.
The machine will show 3.25 Gigs useable regardless of 32 or 64 bit os.
Once 10 is installed the onboard nic will work again.
The 5150/E510 does not support more than 4 gigs. This is a chipset limitation. Its 4 gigs with 3.25 useable. The 0HJ054 motherboard Supports Pentium D 900 Series. If you want more ram find a used Precision 380 which can take the full 8 gigs of ram.
Max ram is 3.25 gigs when you put 4 sticks of 1 Gig in.
With Pentium D 900 series and Bios A07 it even runs windows 8.1 64 bit but the memory limit is the same. It also with bios A07 says unsupported CPU press F1. Once you press F1 it boots and runs fine. Pentium D cpus require the performance copper heatsink. They work without it but the fans run high all the time for some users. The 915 is well worth the $10 that people sell it for.
