Computer freezing on certain webpages
For start, I have an Inspiron 8500 with Win XP Home, 2.2 GHZ P4, 512 MB of RAM, 32 MB Mobility Radeon 9000.
I've had a problem on certain webpages ever since I recieved my system. On certain webpages with a background of lines such as http://www.xbox-scene.com or http://www.teamxecuter.com (these are the only two i've found with this background situation), my computer runs insanely slow if i have the page loaded and showing on my screen. If i try to minimize or close it, it takes up to 15 seconds for it to complete the task. Every time i try to scroll downward, it has to reload the page section by section each time I hit down. It reminds me of a LARGE gif file trying to load on a 56k modem, however this happens to me on both dial up and broadband connections. These pages run fine on any other computer i've tried. My parents Dimension 4600 (Win XP MCE/3.0 GHZ P4/1 GIG RAM) runs the pages smoothly and my old Inspiron 8000 (Win XP Home/900 MHZ P3/256 RAM) used to run it perfectly. I have no clue what's causing this or even where to start looking, does anyone know what's going on with this and can point me in the right direction? Or is it time for me to talk to Dell? I know this isn't normal, and i'm sure my 'rents old Toshiba P1 166 wouldn't have this glitch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
-Mark
EDIT: I forgot to mention I'm using IE 6 as my webbrowser, incase it's a software error.
