AverMedia H339 Hybrid Analog/DVBT software for Windows 10 Pro

Hi all,

I upgraded my XPS 17 L702x to Windows 10 Pro. Everything is fine but I'm not able to find a software to watch the integrated TV (AverMedia H339 Hybrid Analog/DVBT). Could somebody please help me to fix this issue? The card driver works properly but I can't find an application to use this card.

Thanks in advance.

TV tuners are not really used much now that you can receive all your subscribed cable online from some providers. Check with your cable company's web site for options to receive your subscribed channels online. Much better picture and no cable connection required.

What software did you use before? There might be an upgrade available. However--the windows 10 compatibility center has nothing listed for that tuner.

I don't understand what do you mean exactly. I don't need any cable company to watch the free TV channels, analog or digital. I just need a software to manage this card. As said the card is properly installed in Windows 10 but I can't find any software to manage the TV tuner.

In Windows 7 I used Windows Media Center to watch the integrated TV of my laptop. So the question is: Is there any software to replace windows media center? I tried on the manufacture web site but I can't find any software (for any operating system) for this TV card, very strange. Is really possible that only windows media center can manage this card? :emotion-8:

Thanks.

I understand what you're saying, because unfortunately I have this problem. I am afraid that it is quite possible that only the Windows Media Center handles this card. Therefore, if you find some solution, I thank you to sharing it with me!

Thanks!

Hi Tomi66,

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any solution after long searching. Hopefully a big, serious and very competitive company like DELL will solve this issue quite soon. In the end of the day it should be quite easy for them to make available a simple update for this card which allows to handle our integrated TV in Windows 10 Pro.

DELLLLL, don't disappoint us! :emotion-2:

Waiting trustful.

Hi all,

same Problem here, I wasn't able to find software to watch TV with the tuner card. Avermedia Website also wasn't very helpful. I tried mediaportal and it worked but it seems to be too heavy (it's a full mediacenter and installs Oracle MYSQL) just to watch Television.

Looking forward to ideas!

I have the same issue with a Lenovo B540p PC. Same card, same issue it only worked with Windows Media Center in Win 8.1. I look forward to a response from any OEM to provide a driver or application that will make this TV tuner work in Win 10.

So I tried this on my DELL AIO 2320 and the TV Player crashed after the channel scan.
So I contacted AVERMEDIA and they answered this:

##
Kindly note that H339 is an ODM product,
although we designed and manufactured the hardware of the tuner,
later we completely sold it to your computer manufacturer Dell
who bundled driver and software for the product.
Regarding Win 10 support you may contact them directly.
We happen to have the software, you may try and download it
-if any technical issues experienced however you should contact Dell support.

This might work for you but froze on my PC.

BUT NOW: I found that someone ported media Center to Windows 10.  Here's a link for you. Works like a charm on my DELL, hope it does the same for you. It seems, I cant post the direct link here. Just do a search for "Media Center Windows 10" on chip.de

Good luck!

I haven't seen any updates lately on this subject.  I upgraded to windows 10 and experience the same problem with the TV tuner card.  I tried several of the suggestions mentioned, but have had no success.  I called DELL technical support and confirmed that DELL does not support a 4 year old high-end XPS laptop on Windows 10.  VERY Disappointing to say  the least.  I won't have to think very long or hard about what my next purchase will NOT be.

Dell is dependent on the manufacturer, in this case AverMedia to write a driver for the TV tuner card. They, not Dell, have chosen not to. Go talk to them.

It is disingenous of AverMedia to brush this issue off on Dell.

The software that was bundled was AverMedia's.

Many years ago I bought one of their cards for my Dell. The software wasn't Dell's. It was AverMedia's.

I have tried the different drivers available for this card on an Lenovo B540p and I couldn't get any to work in Win10. That said none of their drivers worked in Win 7 or 8.1. The card only worked using Win Media Center which obviously was de-installed on the Win10 upgrade. I have since managed to get a copy of Windows Media Center loaded onto Win10, however it will not run in any compatibility mode or as administrator. So back to square one, high spec PC 3 years old with an internal TV card that is useless. No a good advertisement for AverMedia.

Hi

Have a Dell XPS L502X with Avermedia H339 and just upgraded to win 10 pro.

Read all your comments ,decided not to go with the Windows Media Center route as this seems to be a bit unreliable and from reading on other sites not highly recommended .

I decided to download  MediaPortal ( www.team-mediaportal.com ) its free and  I installed version 2.

Found i had to follow their instructions quite closely to get TV set up but once installed I now have working TV ( via aerial ) with all functions working.

Hope this works for you .

Thank you Spangles0.

This application works a treat and I now have my Averedia TV Card working on my Lenovo B540p PC. I couldn't get it to work on the MediaPortal v2 as the client software kept hanging my PC. But the earlier v1.3 works a treat and the card is giving me both TV and Radio channels. A good work around.
