address book will not update/ get error message

Question

I cannot update my address book. I keep getting ' contact could not be created an unknown error occurred' Also, I cannot delete existing addresses, I keep getting the error message ' Contact could not be deleted an unknown error has occurred'. You didn't say what program that you are using. Outlook, outlook express, or whatever. I would recommend that you go to the Microsoft page for the program that you use and check their knowledge base for the problem that you are having. You might have to repair or reinstall your program. You might start here to get help. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I went to the MSN page you suggested and I could not find the help I needed. My e-mail account is Dell Net by MSN. I have Internet Explorer 6.0 with all the add-on's/updates including service pack #2. My computer is an Dell Dimension 8250 using Windows XP Home addition version 2002. A week ago my address book was corrupted by a virus that Norton seemed to have taken care of. However, now I have addresses that I don't recognize in the address book and cannot delete them. Nor can I update or add new addresses. If I go to my Hot Mail account my address book is fine and the way it was before my virus attack. I hope this information is more helpful. Thanks again.
