Cannot pass the sign in screen in dell laptop
I bought a new DELL (Inspiron 3520) laptop pre installed with windows 8 OS 3 weeks back. I could not pass through the sign in screen as the local user account credentials are not given to me (if at all they have given at the time of installation), so I could not login with a local account .
The second option of logging in is the Microsoft account, when given the credentials of the account it is displaying a message "The Username and password are incorrect to reset it go to ....................." like this. But when opening the mail with those credentials it is working perfect and I am able to access the mail, so there might be a problem with the OS I think. Because of this I could not pass through the sign in screen till now.
The two options to login to the laptop are blocked and there was no other other chance to login.
To reinstall the Windows 8 OS, there was no reinstallation disk of windows 8 given to me, So I could not proceed to further steps.

Hi Rajesh2b,
You can Reset your PC. This is similar to a PC restore. This option permanently removes your personal files and apps from the PC and returns Windows 8 to its original state.
Note: We would advise you to take a complete backup of your data (pictures, music, videos, and documents). Please disconnect any external peripherals as well.
Here are the steps to Reset your PC:
Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.

Hi
Thanks for the response
Followed the steps in the first 3 screenshots and suddenly a message was displayed.
" There was a problem
Restart your PC and try again
It looks like something didn't load correctly.Restarting might fix the problem. If this happens more than once, you might also be able to find help by searching online for the specific error code.
Error code: 8007001f
Restart now" Same is displayed in the screenshot attached(which is not clear).
I clicked on restart now button and repeated the same process but what I am getting displayed is the same error code.
Thanks
Rajesh

Hi Rajesh2b,
Thank you for the information. Do you have the original discs sent with the system? If yes, please try to install the Operating System using the discs. Here is the link http://dell.to/PIKUff
Since, the system would be used in India, a global tag transfer needs to be completed. Here is the form http://dell.to/qNc5Am
Note: Manual installation of the Operating system will delete all the data from the system. Please disconnect any external peripherals as well.
Please reply if you have questions.

Hi Rajesh,
Please ensure that you delete all the partition when installing Windows 8. When you get to the screen as shown in the screenshot -> Choose 'Drive options (advanced)'
On the next screen as shown in the screenshot, choose the 'Delete' option and delete all the partition available:
Then click on 'New' to create a fresh partition and follow the on-screen instructions to install the operating system.

Hi Rajesh,
I would suggest you to reset BIOS to defaults.
Now shut the computer down and try to re-install the operating system again. Please ensure that you disconnect all external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives, ethernet cable etc) from the computer.
Please reply with the findings.

Hi Appu,
Thanks for the support.
Followed through DVD option in UEFI (BOOT) but still no luck.
Please find the screenshots
Selected the country language, country etc and next
Accepted the agreement and selected the custom installation
Selected the drive where the OS should be installed
Installation got started
Then suddenly the error will be displayed.
When restarting without the disk below screen appears
File : \BCD
status : 0xc0000034
Info : The Boot Configuration Data File is missing some required information
The Boot priority option has been set to DVD ROM
What is the 32bit and 64 bit OS configuration?
Will there be any problem installing a 64 bit OS in 32 bit configuration system?
Screenshots are taken by mobile camera, so they were not clear. Hope you will understand.
Please reply for further info
Thanks & Regards
Rajesh
