VMs Migration to new VxRail cluster
Hello,
we have new VxRail that will be installed this month with version 7.0.400.
Source: our existing environment consistes of ESXI 6.5 (standard) and vCenter 7 (standard)
Destination: will migrate to our vCenter 7.0 U3G ((Standard but will use trial licnese till migration).
we are searching for better migration method and found that cross vcenter migration is the best for our case, we are using "Import VMs from Destination" we tried from our second site wich contain same version for Vxrail (simulate destination) but we faced the below error while importing, could you please advice ?
Error: "vCenter Dosn't support Hosts of this type ()"

issue has been resolved, we should have L3 vMoition TCP/IP Stack for hot migration or default stack for cold migration

Hi,
Thanks for your question. Are the CPUs on both types of hosts the same brand? All Intel or all AMD? Also make sure that TPM is setup. https://dell.to/3BarhYO
Then Steps below to be performed on each affected node one at a time. Before placing nodes into Maintenance Mode, ensure that the cluster is healthy, that there is not an active VSAN re-synchronization, and that there are adequate resources available for VM Migration and enough free VSAN space available for fault tolerance.
a. 'TPM Security' should be 'On'
b. 'TxT' should be 'On'
Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

Thank you for yor reply, we are trying to migrate using cold cross vcenter migration using import VMs from target to get VMs from source. Does cold migration need same processor type too ?
For TPM i am trying to migrate to the host not adding it to vCenter does TPM affect the migration ?

In general cold migrations should be fine with different CPUs but if a feature set is missing on one it could still cause issues. Both vcenters should be on the same version. https://dell.to/3Bb2tAc
