Install ESXi using Composite file

Hi All, So I have a discussion re: Scratch location issue that I am unable to resolve. This drives me to my next question: I want to re-install the single node in the vSAN cluster (13 nodes) using the current installed package i.e. VXRAIL_COMPOSITE-4.7.535-27177583_for_4.7.x.zip Can I do this using esxcli softaware vib install cmd on the SINGLE host to re-install ESXi and required as per package file in hope this will fix my 'scratch symlink' issue ? or maybe another suggestion... My RP4VM splitters unable to function due to this (var/run/log) not available. Thank you

I Managed to create a persistent scratch location in esxi cli:

changed /etc/vmware/locker.conf to reflect new /my/new/scratch

Reboot

check: /var/run/log --> accessible now!

BOOM everything started working
