Managed application icons in Web Access

Hi,

We've been customizing our vWorkspace environment's Web Access Portal and one of the things we are attempting to customize is the look and feel of the Web Access Portal.

So far it has been exceedingly difficult to use custom icons for the managed applications. Most .ico files do not get recognized by the management portal (no icons found in file), and if we do find a suitable icon (which appear, through trial and error, to have the following restrictions: must contain icons with a maximum of 256 colors, and a resolution of 32x32) it is visible in App Portal but then doesn't show in Web Access (question mark) OR it does show but is of such low quality that, admittedly partly due to our custom HTML which blows icons up to 60x60, the result is too ugly to use.

We've tried replacing the .png files which get generated by the Web Access site (in \icons) with some success, however after the application pool gets restarted the icon cache gets emptied and we're back to the old icons.

Is there some way to get the management portal/web access portal to accept and/or use higher quality icons? Is there a reason there is a 256 color, 32x32 resolution restriction? Even stock icons from for example MS Office, which contain multiple resolutions and color depths, get reduced to 256 color, 32x32 pixels.

Additionally, not entirely related, it seems that the connector for iPad displays the application name instead of the display name of a managed application. This means we're unable to give an application a "management-friendly" name in the Management Console for that name will show in the connector...
