VPLEX VV VPD id

hi,

is there a way I can find the VV name by the vpd id shown in the powerpath.

I have removed the vv from the Storage view so it will not show up in the storage view..

drill down will accept the name of the VV but not the vpd id.

right now I have only the vpd id of a device which is not part of any storage view.

help me on this pls

Hi Jithu,

A VV that is removed from a StorageView will not have a VPD ID. This is a known defect in VPLEX as of today.

So there is no way for you to do this kind of Mapping.

Thanks

I removed a lun from the Storage view without making note of the Virtual volume name.

Now how will I be able to understand which is the LUN which I removed...? u mean there is no way to find out which one was removed....?

I think from CLI itself there is no way to figure this out. However you can try to figure it out from the log files.

Try the files audit.log_ next try client_log_ files.

If you did this operation too long ago than the logs may have rolled over.

Thanks
